03/04/2009Last week, two Towson students were robbed at locations near campus. In one incident a commuter students was threatened with a six-inch knife. The first robbery occurred on March 4 but was not reported to TUPD until March 9. A commuter student was walking eastbound on Burke Avenue when three subjects passed the victim while walking westbound, according to an online TUPD crime alert sent days later. The student reported that while talking on his cell phone, he was struck in the head from behind by one of the their suspects, knocking him to the ground. One of the suspects displayed a six-inch knife and demanded money from the victim. The victim gave the suspects $40 in cash and his cell phone. The three suspects then fled southbound on the 8000 block of York Rd. The victim gave descriptions of the suspects as being African-American males between the ages of 18-21.
